Aranka and Sasha

Founded in 1994, our school was the first in Canada to offer the Bikram Yoga Method.

...there is good cause for Yoga to have many adherents. It offers the possibility of controllable experience and, thus, satisfies the scientific need for 'facts'; and, besides this, by reason of its breadth and depth, its venerable age, its doctrine and method, which include every phase of life, it promises undreamed-of possibilities." -Carl G. Jung

Our Vision

In our studio we strive to develop and strengthen our body, mind and spirit. We aim to achieve this by lovingly disciplining ourselves during our yoga practice to become the best person we can be. Both self-love and self-discipline are needed. By themselves alone, these qualities lead to unhealthy extremes; while fusing strength and sensitivity leads to a balance.
We welcome and invite all of our students to consciously participate in improving themselves on an ongoing basis. We offer our studio to be your ashram (centre for learning and practice).

"Postures strengthen and develop will and body - physical and mental development are intertwined."                           -Bishnu Ghosh

Our school is known for its high quality instruction and high standards.

"Faith in the practice of Yoga and in one's own powers to accomplish what others have done before, is of great importance to insure speedy success." --Pancham Singh

Our Yoga Series

Through a variety of yoga series at the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels, we wish to cultivate depth and breadth, a balanced development of body and mind.
Our studio is Canada's Leader in its systematic approach in teaching the Bishnu Ghosh Tradition.

At this time, the classes we offer are at a Beginner and Intermediate level.

Bishnu 1:
Beginner Hot Yoga class, consisting of 38 yoga exercises and 2 breathing exercises. Based on the popular Bikram Yoga Method.
This is the 1st Series of our Bishnu Yoga Tradition. The forty yoga exercises systematically move refreshed and oxygenated blood to one hundred percent of your body, thus driving circulation to each organ and fiber within you, and restoring all systems to healthy working order. Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, and a sense of well-being will automatically follow.
This class augments and enhances the Bikram Yoga class by introducing the alternation of poses with opposite effects, a warm up before standing poses (one can't stretch cold tissues safely), upper body and core strengtheners and hip/pelvic openers.

Bishnu 2:
This is the 2nd Series of our Bishnu Yoga Tradition.
Taking a more comprehensive approach, this class consists of over 60 yoga postures and 3 types of breathing exercises. Built on the Bishnu 1 class as its core, it takes the practice to a new level. Bishnu Yoga is the Original Hot Yoga, from which Bikram Yoga came about.
Not suitable for beginners. Good foundation is expected. Taught in the traditional Watch and Follow way.

Yin Yoga :
Foundation of a quiet practice. Deep tissue workout for the whole body. A floor based class in a warm room.
Yin Yoga for all bipeds equipped with hips that click or crack sometimes, with backs that ache and nag at night, and knees that could be functioning better, for Gumby girls and boys, who have the flexibility, but need more stability.
Here mostly floor poses open and defuzz the delicate but cobwebbed nooks and crannies of the yogi, holding postures for 2-6 minutes each. A delicious mixture of gentle and soothing movements and long held stillness. The mind is at ease, the breath is smooth, while the body is on the mend. The yogi walks on clouds after each class.
